Application Deadline Extended: Special Living Support Benefit (Now due on Monday, August 17)

  The application deadline for the Special Living Support Benefit, which assists residents affected by rising prices, has been extended. If you have not yet applied, please submit your application by the new deadline.

Eligibility

Those who have received a confirmation letter.

Procedures

Please fill in the required information on the confirmation letter and submit it by Monday, August 17, using one of the following methods:

▶By Mail: Use the enclosed return envelope (must be received by the deadline).

▶In Person: Bring it directly to the Benefit Office (Annex 3, Meeting Room 1).

▶Online: Via the official Kashiwa City LINE account.

Applications for exemption form or deferral of National Pension contributions are now being accepted

  Those who on National Pension Type 1 experiencing financial difficulties to pay the contributions for National Pension due to the income decline or employment loss can apply for the exemption or deferral of the payment.

 National Pension Office (1st Floor, Main building of City Hall), Shonan Office (1st Floor, Shonan Building), City Hall Branch Office (Kashiwa Station area) (12th Floor, Kashiwa Takashimaya Station Mall, Shinkan), and other Branch offices.

Sending Child Medical Expense Subsidy Certificates

   We will mail out the Child Medical Expense Subsidy Certificates on Friday, July 17. These certificates can be used starting Saturday, August 1. If you have not received your certificate by Friday, July 24, please contact us.

Eligibility

Children living in Kashiwa City up to the age equivalent of a high school student.

※If married, not eligible.

Amount of the expense you pay

You will pay 300 yen per hospital visit, or per day of hospitalization.

※Free of charge for households exempted from municipal and prefectural income tax. Insurance-covered dispensing is free of charge for all eligible persons.

Have Your Children Completed Their Vaccinations?

 During the summer vacation, exposure to the crowd of people increases and the risks of getting infectious diseases increases too. If your children are past the vaccination eligibility age, you will bear the full cost of vaccination.  It is advisable to get vaccinated with organized schedule.

Keep a Close Watch on Children Playing Near Water

   Waterfront areas can be deceptive and hazardous which can lead to fatal accidents. To keep children safe, adults must be aware of these risks and teach children how to stay safe. Please stay alert and supervise children closely whenever they are near water.

Safety Tips

▶ If you see children in a dangerous situation, please warn them.

▶ Children should never go to rivers or ponds without adult supervision.

▶ When children are playing near water, adults must keep a constant eye on them.

Extension of Temporary Measures: Allowing the Use of Clear/Semi-transparent Bags Other Than Official City Garbage Bags:

 Due to a shortage of official city garbage bags at some supermarkets in the city, we have implemented the following temporary measures. Please note that manufacturers have reported they are producing the bags as usual. We kindly ask for your cooperation and understanding in avoiding excessive purchases or hoarding of garbage bags.

▶Burnable waste (可燃Kanen)

▶Plastic containers and packaging(プラPura)

Acceptable Bags

You may use clear or semi-transparent bags (approx. 15–45 liters).

※Please write the following in large, clear characters on the bag:

For Combustible waste: Write "可燃" or "かねん" (Kanen)

For Plastic waste: Write "プラ" (Pura).

Important Notes

 

・Do not use black, opaque (non-see-through) bags, or paper bags.

・There are no changes to the garbage sorting rules or collection schedule.

・Please continue to use official city garbage bags if you have them.

Dispose of Lithium-Ion Batteries as Hazardous Waste

 Small rechargeable batteries, known as "lithium-ion batteries," are used in devices such as portable electric fans and smartphones. These batteries are causing frequent fires in garbage collection trucks and waste processing facilities. If a fire occurs, the facility may be forced to shut down, which prevents everyone from disposing of their garbage. Please ensure that you always dispose of lithium-ion batteries as hazardous waste.
