Apply by mail for authorized nursery schools, etc. for April 2026

We start taking applications from those wishing to enroll their children in authorized nursery schools and other similar facilities in April 2026.
How to get application forms
Application forms are available as follows:
▶ On Kashiwa City website from Saturday, November 1.
▶ At Nursery School Administration Division (City Hall Annex, 3rd floor), Shonan Branch (Shonan Office Building, 1st floor), and public nursery schools from Tuesday, November 4.
Application procedures
The completed application forms must be sent by mail to 〒277−8505 Kashiwa City Hall, Nursery School Administration Division by Monday, December 8 (postmark valid). ※If your first choice is a certified Kodomo-en, please submit your application directly to the Kodomo-en you wish to apply to.
Result announcement date
Wednesday, February 4, 2026
Others
▶Admissions are not based on first-come, first-served; it is determined by assessing childcare need through a point system.
▶Certified Kodomo-en will give priority enrollment to those applying as their first choice.
▶Applicants wishing to enroll in a Kodomo-en must attend a pre-application briefing session.
▶Guardians concerned about their child's health or development: Get a consultation at Nursery School Administration Division with your application documents and the Maternal and Child Health Logbook by Monday, December 8 (Appointment required. Book online via the city website by Monday, December 1.)

Taking applications for after-school programs starting in April 2026

After school until 5:00 pm, regardless of the guardians’ employment status, the programs are available to children to engage in a variety of activities such as experience-based learning, reading, and play.
Applicable schools with after-school programs
Kashiwa-San sho (elementary school), Kashiwa-Yon sho, Kashiwa-Go sho, Kashiwa-Hachi sho, Yutaka sho, Asahi sho, Nadogaya sho, Hikarigaoka sho, Sakaine sho, Sakaine-Higashi sho, Tsuchi sho, Tsuchi-Nanbu sho, Tomise sho, Tanaka sho, Tanaka-Kita sho, Matsuba-Ichi sho, Matsuba-Ni sho, Takayanagi sho, Takayanagi-Nishi sho, and Otsugaoka-Ichi sho.
Reminders
Schools not listed in the above will be continuing Kodomo Room, and applications must be made by Thursday, November 20. New first graders must apply by Wednesday, December 10.

You can choose how to use the service based on your employment status. However, depending on the program availability, your request may not be accommodated.

Get vaccinated against shingles with partial subsidy

Subsidy for individuals eligible this fiscal year is offered until Tuesday, March 31, 2026. If you miss the vaccination this time, you will not be able to receive the subsidy from the city for future shingles vaccinations. Inactivated vaccines require an interval of at least two months between doses. To complete the vaccinations while the subsidy is available, get the first dose by January 2026.

Eligibility
Registered residents of Kashiwa City at the time of vaccination, have not previously received the shingles vaccine, and meet any of the following criteria:
▶Turning into 65,70, 75, 80, 85, 90, and 95 years between April 2, 2025 and April 1, 2026.
▶100 years old and older (FY2025 only).
▶60 - 64 years old with immune dysfunction due to HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and equivalent to Grade 1 Physical Disability Certificate.

Others
Public assistance recipients are exempt from copayments. Eligible individuals who moved in Kashiwa city on or after April 1, 2025, should contact the division.
