Although June may feel cool, it is  actually a time when we are more susceptible to heatstroke. Accordingly, the risk of food poisoning also increases during the high humidity of  rainy season and the hot summer months. Prevent food poisoning by thorougly following prevention tips.

Three key points to prevent heatstroke

 Use air conditioning effictively

●Regularly check the room temperature with a thermo-hygrometer to keep an appropriate temperature of 28°C (82°F) and humidity of 70 percent.

●Adjust the direction of the air conditioning and fans to circulate cool air evenly.

●Use screens or curtains to block sunlight.

Try to avoid heat

●Wear clothes made of materials that absorb perspiration easily and dry quickly.

●Use portable fans and coolants to keep cool while out and around.

●Avoid direct sunlight with hats or UV parasols.

 Hydrate frequently

Aim to drink about 1-2 liters of water throughout the day, divided into several portions. When perspiring profusely, replenish salt with sports drinks or similar drink.

Heat shelters will be opened when an alert is announced in Chiba Prefecture

When an alert is announced for dangerously hot weather, about 50 public and commercial facilities in Kashiwa city will be opened as temporary heat shelters. Please make use of these places if you have to go out when the alert is announced.

 ■”Cool Spots”

Open when a heatstroke alert is announced (some facilities are open regardless of the alert).

 ■”Cooling Shelters”

Open when Heatstroke Special Alert is announced.
