Application deadline is approaching for the support payment to low-income residents in Kashiwa city

Documents must be submitted by the due date to receive the benefit. So,please submit your confirmation form by the deadline if you have received one.
Eligibility
Households whose residents are registered in Kashiwa city as of December 13, 2024 and all the members are exempt from resident tax for FY2024 *A household consisting only of dependents of a taxpayer is not eligible.
Benefit amount
30,000 yen per household *Households with a child born on or after April 2, 2006 will receive an additional 20,000 yen for each eligible child.

*If you have not received the documents, and your tax status or dependent status have changed due to an amended tax filing, you may need to apply by May 30 (Friday). Application forms can be requested from the call center or downloaded from the city website.

Home visits by Welfare Commissioners begin

Welfare Commissioners will visit the homes of elderly residents to inquire about their concerns in daily life and to provide information on health and welfare services.
Visit Period
From May 15 (Thursday) to June 30 (Monday)
People to be visited
Those aged 75 and over residing in the city as of April 1, 2025. * The Visit may be made to other elderly residents as part of the “Watch Over the Elderly” operations.
Test broadcast of disaster prevention and administration radio

A test broadcast will be conducted around 11:00am May 28 (Wednesday). Broadcasting will be made all at once from 190 disaster prevention administrative radio stations in the city.

Tax notices will be sent out on May 9 (Friday). Payment can be made at financial institutions and convenience stores, as well as by credit card, internet banking, and various smartphone payment apps.

To reduce the financial burden due to rising prices, we will waive two months' water basic charges.

May or June meter reading billing. * Readings are conducted once every two months.

Those who have a water supply contract with Kashiwa City Water and Sewer Bureau *Excluding national, prefectural, and municipal facilities.

The basic charge portion of the total water charges.

● The metered charges and sewage usage fees are not applicable.
● If you pay by payment notice, you will be billed with the amount of the basic charge deducted.
● If you pay by account transfer, you will be debited with the amount of the basic charge deducted at the time of transfer.

Reduction of daycare fees for the second child and onwards

Regardless of household income or the age of the first child, the second child under 2 years old will be charged half the daycare fee, and the third child will be charge-free.
*Daycare fees for children aged 3-5 at licensed childcare facilities are free for all.
Eligibility
Households that reside in Kashiwa city, share living expenses, and have a second or third child under 2 years old enrolled in a licensed childcare facility.
Reduction of copayment for cancer screening and introduction of “Ladies’ Checkups”

The city will reduce medical copayment and create an environment where women and households with children can easily receive screenings.
●National Health Insurance members aged 40-69 will be able to receive screenings without prior registration.
●Copayment will be reduced from approximately 30% to 15%.
●A "Ladies’ Checkup" will be introduced to allow for breast and cervical cancer screenings to be done in one day.
●Outreach for screenings will be enforced by sending notification to the employee health insurance members as well.

Where and how to dispose of old PCs
● Put into collection boxes located at 18 locations in the city * PCs must be within 30 x 15 cm
● Contact city-affiliated disposal companies to collect.
● Request manufacturers or PC 3R Promotion Association to collect.
