You can apply for financial support for school attendance

For financially struggling household with any children enrolling at public elementary and junior high school in Kashiwa city, support is offered to maintain the children’s school attendance. For the entitled household, the exemption of school lunch fee, besides the financial support for school supplies, extracurricular activity, and school trip fee are offered.

Watch out for heat stroke and food poisoning!

In coming sizzling summer, the risk of getting heat stroke, high body temperature, dizziness, convulsions, and headaches is becoming high. Not only under the strong sun, but also inside with hot temperature and high humidity, there are the risks of getting heat stroke.
Especially extra caution is vital for elderly people and young children, for they face the higher risk of getting heat stroke which leads to death.
Heat Stroke Alert; protect yourself and your family
One day before the expected day with substantial risk of heat stroke, the Heat Stroke Alert will be issued. When the alert is issued, please try to utilize any means such as air conditioning to protect yourself from getting heat stroke.

“Cooling Shelter” to be opened to escape from the heat in Kashiwa city

In expected case of substantial risk of heat stroke due to the dangerously hot temperature, the Heat Stroke Alert will be issued. In Kashiwa city, when this alert is issued, "Cooling Shelter" will be opened to the public to escape from the heat.

Especially during the rainy season with high humidity and during summer with hot temperature, the risk of getting food poisoning increases.

Last year, the squall line rains caused hazardous heavy rain. In rainy season, the risk of disaster due to the heavy rain increases, so that your extra caution is required. Please learn when to start evacuating and required actions prior to an emergency case happens. Start preparing for an emergency to protect yourself and your family.
Prepare for an emergency to protect your life and your family
When the situation is classified above the Alert Level 3, alert and evacuation information will be issued. Please check the risk around your house, evacuation site and evacuation route before the emergency happens.
Alert Level 5 (Emergency Safety Measures)
Emergency Safety Measures indicates a life-threatening situation in which you can no longer safely evacuate. Evacuate straight away from any areas at the risk of flooding and landslide. Think about saving your life first.
Alert Level 4(Evacuation Instruction)
Everyone in the evacuation instructed area should evacuate to a safe building taller than two-stories or a safe place.
Alert Level 3(Evacuation of the Elderly, etc.)
Anybody who may take longer time to evacuate, such as elderly or person who needs assistance, should evacuate. Healthy and able-bodied persons should start to prepare for the evacuation.
Alert Level 2(Heavy Rain, Flood, or Storm Surge Advisories)
Please prepare to evacuate by checking what personal belongings and valuables to take with you to the evacuation site and checking the evacuation actions listed in the Disaster Prevention Guidebook.
Alert Level 1 (Probability of Warnings)
Please try to stay at home, check the latest news and weather information carefully through the TV or radio to keep your focus on the possible disaster.
Points to remember when evacuating in a heavy rain disaster
Start evacuation early before the rain getting heavier and wind getting stronger
Please be aware of a possible traffic jam when you evacuate by driving.
Have an alternative evacuation shelter
Please list and have an alternative evacuation shelter such as a friend’s or relative's house, or any accommodation in less risk areas in addition to the local evacuation shelter.
Check the risk level of flood in your neighborhood
Please check whether your house and neighborhood are at the risk of flooding or not in additon to the evacuation route on the Flood Hazard Map of Kashiwa city. At the same time, please check the recommended evacuation actions and the stock level of emergency supplies and emergency stockpile listed in the Disaster Prevention Guidebook of Kashiwa city.

Tax certificate of municipal and prefectural taxes to be issued

Tax payment certificate of municipal and prefectural taxes for fiscal year of 2024 can be issued from 12th June (Wednesday). You can request online using the LINE app. However, if you have not finished your tax declaration yet, tax certificate cannot be obtained on the same day.
Certificate with Kashiwa city address cannot any longer to be issued at city hall service desk in other cities

Currently amongst Kashiwa, Nagareyama, and Abiko cities, certificate of Residence and certificate of Inkan (personal stamp) are issued interrelatedly. But this service will be no longer available.
