Notice regarding vaccinations

Covid-19 vaccinations are being done at medical facilities in Kashiwa City. For a list of medical facilities where you can get your vaccination, please refer to the Kashiwa City website.

At KOIL Terrace, Kashiwa City’s group vaccination venue, we are accepting people who have not yet received their 2nd dose of the Takeda/Moderna vaccine due to any kind of circumstances. If you only need to get your 2nd dose of the vaccine, please contact the Kashiwa City Covid-19 Vaccine Call Center – Phone: 7179-2663 (8:30 am to 5:15 pm)

Extension of the time period for routine vaccinations

The vaccination period has been extended for people who could not get their routine vaccinations, such as measles and rubella (MR), during the prescribed time period due to the effects of Covid-19.

 

Eligibility

Registered residents of Kashiwa City who were unable to get their routine vaccinations within the prescribed time period due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

 

Applicable vaccinations

Vaccinations that were offered on or after January 8, 2021

 

Vaccination deadline

Thursday, March 31 of next year

 

How to apply

Before receiving the vaccination, please download an application from the city website, and fill in the required parts of the form. Attach the necessary documents, and mail it to 277-0004, Kashiwa-shita 65-1, Kashiwa City Public Health Center, Health Promotion Division, or submit the form directly.

Other

A refund is available for people who have already received applicable routine vaccinations at their own expense.

Night emergency medical treatment will resume at the Medical Center

With the end of Covid-19 night vaccinations, the Night Medical Emergency Treatment Center in the Medical Center (Wellness Kashiwa) will resume operations.

Applications will be accepted for children to enter certified nursery schools from April of next year

In Kashiwa City, there are 22 public and 73 private nursery schools, which include Certified Nursery Schools (Ninka-Hoikuen), Authorized Day Care Centers (Nintei-Kodomo-En), and Small-Scale Certified Nursery Schools (Shokibo-Ninka-Hoikuen). In April of next year, 3 new Certified Nursery Schools, 1 new Authorized Day Care Center, and 3 new Small-Scale Certified Nursery Schools will be established.

 

If you would like your child to enter an Authorized Day Care Center, please make sure to get information regarding facility management from the nursery schools before you apply.

Tours are available at each nursery school facility, so please take advantage of this service.

Enrollment Application Information

Day care necessity approval requirements

In order to use a Certified Nursery School, you must receive approval for Education and Daycare Approval Classifications 2 and 3 (having a necessity for children’s daycare). The parents or guardians must meet one of the following criteria to receive approval.

 

▶Currently employed

▶Have just given birth, or are about to give birth (after giving birth, the time period extends to the last day of the month in which eight weeks have passed since the child was born).

▶Have an illness or disability

▶Currently providing care on a regular basis for a live-in relative who is suffering from a mental or physical disability, or similar circumstances.

Employment certificates or other documents showing the necessity for daycare, and providing certification for the time period on or after July 1, are valid

 

Nursery school age (class)

The child’s age as of April 1 of next year. Even if the child has a birthday, they will remain in the same class throughout the fiscal year.

There may be restrictions on the age of children (age in months) that can be accepted for daycare enrollment.

How to apply

By Friday, December 17, complete the required parts of the application form, and send it by mail to the following address:

277-8505 Kashiwa City Hall, Nursery School Administration Division.

(Applications must be postmarked by the deadline.)

If your first choice for enrollment is an Authorized Day Care Center (Nintei-Kodomo-En), please bring your application directly to the day care center you have chosen.

▶Enrollment approval is not granted according to the order in which applications are received. Approval is decided based on a point system.

▶For Authorized Day Care Centers, those with the facility as their first choice will receive priority.

▶If you are concerned about your child’s illness, developmental issues or allergies, please bring your application form and Mother and Child Health Handbook to the Nursery School Administration Division for an interview within the application period. (By appointment only; please call by Friday, December 10.)

▶If there are new day care facilities opening, a notice will be posted on the Kashiwa City website.

Points to note when making an application

Applications for two or more siblings

On the application form, there is a section for “Applying for enrollment of siblings at the same time”. You must make sure that you choose the correct code for your request. Separate petitions, etc. will not be accepted.

 

Declining an offer of enrollment

Regarding offers of enrollment for nursery school for April of next year or later, if the offer is declined without a justifiable reason, points will be deducted if you apply for enrollment again within the same year.

 

If you have moved to Kashiwa City on or after January 2, 2021 (or intending to move to Kashiwa)

Please submit your Tax Payment Certificate (Kazei-shomeisho) or Tax Exemption Certificate (Hikazei-shomeisho) (for the 2021 fiscal year).

The records will be obtained from the municipality where you were registered as of January 1, 2021.

 

Additional points for kindergarten teachers

From the next fiscal year, those who are working at child care facilities in the city (including prospective employees) as kindergarten teachers in addition to nursery school teachers will be eligible for additional points. If you wish to add points, please submit a copy of your nursery school teacher's certificate, etc.

A financial assistance system is available for parents or guardians of children who are entering elementary school in April of next year, who live in Kashiwa City, and who are having financial difficulty. Part of the costs associated with entering school will subsidized as part of the school financial support system.

If your application is completed by Monday, January 31, you will receive a subsidy payment at the end of February, after an income evaluation has been completed.

Applications are now being accepted for children to enter Kodomo Room daycare centers in April of next year

In Kashiwa City, parents or guardians who are employed, and cannot look after their children during the afternoon can use Kodomo Room day care centers.

 

Eligibility

Children who will be in elementary school, year 1 to 6 as of April of next year.

Elementary school students from year 1 to 3, or children who are especially in need of support will be given priority to enter Kodomo Room daycare centers.

 

Kodomo Room Day Care entry period

April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023

 

Kodomo Room Day Care schedule

▶Monday to Friday = 1:30pm to 7:00pm (from 8:00am during long holidays)

▶Saturdays = 8:00am to 6:30pm

▶Shortened school days = From after school to 7:00pm

During long holidays, daycare outside regular hours is available only for those who have applied, from 7:00am to 8:00am (100 yen per child for each time).

Closed on Sundays, public holidays, and during the Year-End and New Year's holiday (December 29 to January 3 of the following year).

 

Day care fees (monthly)

10,000 yen per month (15,000 yen in August only).

There is a fee exemption system.

By Monday, December 20, complete all required parts of the application form, attach any necessary documents, and send it in by mail to the following address:

If any of the following are applicable to you, please bring your application to the After-School Daycare Division in person.

▶Your child requires special support, and he or she has no previous experience in a Kodomo-Room day care center.

▶You have unpaid Kodomo-Room day care fees from services prior to October 2021.

 

Other

▶Depending on the number of applications, the child may not be able to enter the Kodomo Room day care center that you were hoping to use.

▶If the child has difficulty with group daycare, he or she may not be able to enter.

▶There will be an assessment of the parent or guardian’s employment situation.

▶Depending on the length of the parent or guardian's employment contract, the child's enrollment permission may be less than one year.
