From Tuesday, October 1st, pre-school education and day care will begin to be made free of charge

Pre-school education and day care is being made free of charge for children in the class age 3 to 5 and for children from households that are exempt from municipal tax in the class age 0 to 2. Please use the following chart to confirm whether or not an application is required. The out-of-pocket fees for pre-school children with disabilities who are receiving financial support will also be made free of charge.

(Supplementary note 1) Only the monthly day care usage fees are eligible to be free of charge. The cost of lunches, activities and other items must be covered by the individual. (The items and the cost will vary depending on the facility).

(Supplementary note 2) Facilities and services that have a city application process, facilities other than authorized day care facilities (including Kashiwa City approved day care rooms), temporary day care, day care for children with illnesses, Family Support Centers, babysitters, etc.

Please make your application for free day care service as soon as possible

In order to receive free day care service starting from Tuesday, October 1, you need to receive approval for “Facility Usage Benefits” in September. The “Facility Usage Benefits” is an application for approval to receive free day care service, and is different from the nursery school enrollment application that has been used up to this point in time. Renewed health insurance cards that are valid as of August 1, were distributed by registered mail in July. If you have not received your health insurance card yet, please pick it up as soon as possible.

How to receive your health insurance card

▶At the reception counter = Bring a piece of official photo identification, and pick up your health insurance card in person at the Health Insurance and Pension Division.(City Hall, Main Building, 1st Floor)

▶Redelivery = Contact the Health Insurance and Pension Division

Other

If you have entered Workplace Health Insurance, or another insurance program, please complete an application to withdraw from National Health Insurance. Bring your Workplace Health Insurance Card and your National Health Insurance Card, and submit the application at the Health Insurance and Pension Division, the Reception Desk Service Division (Shonan Branch Office, 1st Floor), any branch office, or the Kashiwa Eki-Mae Administrative Service Center.

A test of the emergency broadcast system

On Wednesday, August 28 at around 11:00am, a test broadcast will be done on the emergency broadcast system. The test broadcast will be done simultaneously from loudspeakers posted at 190 locations around the city.

 ▶The test broadcast may be cancelled in case of an actual disaster or depending on the weather conditions.

▶Neighboring cities may also be doing a test broadcast at the same time.
