Kashiwa Nebuta Parade
The Kashiwa Nebuta Parade is a procession of illuminated floats and dancers. Nebuta Matsuri is a famous festival in Aomori Prefecture, and the “Kashiwa Nebuta” started a sister city association between Kashiwa City and Tsugaru City (formerly Kashiwa Village) in Aomori. The Kashiwa Nebuta Parade has become one of the big events at the Kashiwa Matsuri, Kashiwa’s annual summer festival. This year, look out for a new float joining the ranks; “Chiba-nosuke-tsunetani Minamoto-no-yoritomo Fujigawa-no-Kachidoki”.

Haneto dancers for the Nebuta Parade (registration is required)
Join the Haneto dancers, and move along to the lively rhythm of the traditional Hayashi music that accompanies the Nebuta Parade. Please see the Kashiwa Nebuta Executive Committee website for participation requirements and more information.

Dancers to join in the Wa-Odori Circle Dance (no registration required)
The Wa-Odori Circle Dance is a yearly tradition at the festival, where everyone gets into a big circle and dances. Even if you don't know the steps, just follow along and have fun!

Special booth for rugby and the Paralympics
Kashiwa City has been selected as a pre-competition training camp area for the upcoming Rugby World Cup and Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis. A special booth will be set up at the Kashiwa Matsuri this year, when everyone has their mind on sports.

Traffic regulations will be in effect over the two days of the festival from noon to 9:00pm. If you come to the festival area by bicycle, please use the available bicycle parking lots.
Please refrain from smoking in the non-smoking areas around Kashiwa Station.
Please refrain from using unmanned aerial vehicles (drones)in the festival area.
Kashiwa City Premium Gift Certificates will be available to those who are eligible

In order to help low-income earners and child-raising families ease the burden of October’s consumption tax increase, Premium Gift Certificates will be available for purchase. These gift certificates can be used at restaurants and supermarkets in Kashiwa City.
Information will be sent to the registered addresses of those who are eligible to purchase the gift certificates.
How to purchase the gift certificates
Those who were exempt from residents’ tax (per-capita rate) for the current fiscal year.
(Not including dependent family members of those required to pay residents’ tax, or those who are receiving public assistance.)
1 Application forms for tickets that can be exchanged upon purchase of gift certificates will be sent out by mail (starting in July)
2 Complete the applicaton form that was sent from the city, and return it by mail.
3 After your application is reviewed, tickets that can be exchanged upon purchase of gift certificates will be sent out by mail to applicants. (Starting in September)
(The review may determine that you are ineligible for the gift certificates.)
4 Bring your ticket for purchase of gift certificates, along with personal identification (driver’s license, etc.), and purchase the gift certificates.
Those who are the head of a household with children who were born between April 2, 2016 and September 30, 2019.
1 Tickets that can be exchanged upon purchase of gift certificates will be sent out by mail to the head of household. (starting in September)
2 Bring your ticket for purchase of gift certificates, along with personal identification (driver’s license, etc.), and purchase the gift certificates.
One set of gift certificates worth 5,000 yen (a set of ten 500 yen tickets) can be purchased for 4,000 yen.
Up to 5 sets of tickets per person. Those who meet the criteria for both eligibility 1 and 2 purchase tickets for respective categories. Those who meet the criteria for eligibility 2 may purchase the number of tickets reflective of the number of eligible children.
Gift certificates sales locations
Tickets will be sold at post offices in Kashiwa City and other locations.
More information will be provided with the tickets that can be exchanged upon purchase of gift certificates when they are sent out beginning in September.

Gift certificates will be valid until Sunday, March 1 of next year.

A notice regarding nursing care insurance

Part of the Nursing Care Insurance fees will be reduced
Those who are 65 years of age and older, and all members of the household are exempt from residents’ tax. A notice of approval will be sent on Wednesday, July 3 and the payment notice will be sent on Wednesday, July 17.
A certificate of the out-of-pocket amount for Nursing Care Insurance will be sent by mail
Those who will receive approval for support or nursing care, and those associated with nursing care activities continuing from August will be sent certificates for the out-of-pocket amount for Nursing Care Insurance on Friday, July 5.
Please check the user’s out-of-pocket amount on the certificate for the out-of-pocket amount, and present the certificate to your care manager or the service facility that you are using..
