As part of the disaster mitigation countermeasures in Kashiwa City, the internet version of the "Disaster Prevention/Hazard Map" will be updated and ready to use as of May 1. This will ensure Kashiwa City residents have reliable information on evacuation activities. Using your computer or smartphone, you will be able to confirm the location of disaster prevention facilities and hazardous areas, anytime and anywhere.
What is a Hazard Map?
The Hazard Map shows the location of disaster prevention facilities, and indicates an estimate of the level of damage and the areas that may be affected in different types of disaster situations.
Types of information available
▶Disaster prevention facilities (evacuation facilities, emergency water supply points, etc.)
▶Areas vulnerable to soil liquefaction
▶Areas vulnerable to shaking during an earthquake
▶Areas vulnerable to flooding (largest estimated extent of flooding, and the length of time the area will remain flooded)
▶Landslide warning areas, and landslide danger areas.

At this event, 78 citizens' public interest and activities groups that are active in Kashiwa City will be showcasing their activities and will have representatives available to answer your questions.
You will be able to walk around each event area, and experience the enjoyment and excitement of the citizens' activities in Kashiwa City. If you are interested in starting something new in your community, this is definitely the event for you!

Lend a hand to keep your city clean! "Gomi-Zero" (Zero Trash) activities on Sunday, May 27

The "Zero Trash" activities ("Gomi-Zero") will mainly take place on May 30. The clean-up activities will involve picking up litter from the community areas. This activity is held to prevent littering and to promote recycling, in order to create a beautiful green natural environment in our community.
Last year in Kashiwa City, about 27,000 people participated, and collected about 13 tonnes of trash. Let's all work together to make a clean sweep in our city, and and create a beautiful community.
