Financial Assistance System for Education
Financial assistance for school fees for children who are attending public elementary or junior high school is available for parents or guardians who are residents of Kashiwa City, and experiencing household financial difficulties. If the need for financial assistance is approved, school lunch fees will be exempt, and financial assistance will be provided for part of the school expenses such as school supplies and school trip fees.

Financial subsidy for the cost of earthquake resistance inspection for homes
Part of the cost for earthquake resistance inspection for the home you currently own will be subsidized. If you are interested, please apply prior to the inspection.
Eligibility: Home owners whose wood-frame houses meet all of the following criteria. ▶Wood-frame houses built by conventional construction methods, and where construction was started on or before May 31, 1981 (for single-family or multi-family residences). （補足）Limited to residences that have not had an addition built on or after June 1, 1981. ▶Residences must have no more than two floors above ground.
Amount of subsidy: Two thirds (2/3) of the cost of earthquake resistance inspection (rounded down to the nearest 1000 yen.（補足）Up to 40,000 yen.
Application period: Monday, May 1 to Monday, December 25
Other: Eligibility is limited to inspections done by wood-frame home earthquake resistance inspectors who are registered in Kashiwa City.
Apartment Condominiums (Mansions)
Eligibility: Management committee representatives whose apartment condominiums meet all of the following criteria. ▶Apartment condominium buildings for which construction was started on or before May 31, 1981. ▶The apartment building must have 3 or more floors above ground, and a total floor area of at least 1,000 square meters. ▶The building must be made of a steel-framed structure, reinforced concrete structure, or steel-framed reinforced concrete structure. ▶The floor area for residential use must make up at least 1/2 of the total floor area in the building. ▶The actual blueprints for the building structure must be available. ▶The management committee must have reached an agreement in their general meeting to have the earthquake resistance inspection done, and to apply for the subsidy.
Subsidy amount for the preliminary inspection: Two thirds (2/3) of the amount of the earthquake resistance inspection (rounded down to the nearest 1000 yen) （補足）Up to 34,000 yen.
Subsidy amount for the actual inspection: Two thirds (2/3) of the amount of the earthquake resistance inspection (rounded down to the nearest 1000 yen) （補足）Up to 1,000,000 yen.
Application period: Thursday, June 1 to Monday, September 25
