The Teganuma Fireworks Festival will be held again this year, adding sparkle to the summer in Kashiwa. Don't miss the excitement of the powerful fireworks display.
Time: Saturday, August 1, 7:00 to 8:30pm (Fireworks will be launched starting from 7:10pm.)
※The event will be postponed to Sunday, August 2 in case of poor weather.
Viewing area: Along the Teganuma Shizen Fureai greenspace path.
◎The special traffic regulations will be in effect from 6 to 9pm on the day of the event.
Please note: ●Use of radio-controlled aircraft (drones) is prohibited in the area around Teganuma.
●Viewing fireworks from the Tega Ohashi bridge is prohibited.
Other: There is no parking area. On the morning of the event, a special telephone service will be available to check whether or not the event will be held (Phone: 0180-991-155). Please follow the instructions of the security guards around the event area.
The 2nd round of applications for the Kashiwa City Premium Gift Certificates will begin

Those who have already purchased the allotted number of gift certificate sets are also welcome to apply again.
Eligibility: Those who live in Kashiwa City, and are 15 years of age or older as of April 1, 2015.
Details: 1 set (gift certificates worth 13,000 yen) will be sold for 10,000 yen.
Application: Starting from Thursday, July 16 at 8:00pm, please fill out the required parts of the application form on the Kashiwa City Premium Gift Certificate Executive Committee homepage (up to two sets per person). When your application is complete, an application number will be displayed. This number will be required when you pick up the gift certificates, so please print or record the number, and be sure not to misplace it.
Required information on the application: 1.Postal code 2.Address 3.Name 4.Name in furigana 5.Date of birth 6. Number of sets you wish to purchase 7.Location where you wish to purchase the gift certificates.
Number of sets available: 10,000 on a first-come, first-served basis. (Sales will finish when the available gift certificates have been sold out.)
Location where gift certificates can be purchased: Sogo Kashiwa Main Building, 8th floor, and Kashiwa Takashimaya Main Building, 2nd basement floor
Purchase period: From Thursday, August 6 to Sunday, August 9, 10:00am to 7:00pm

Part of the nursing care insurance system will be changed starting from August

With the revisions to the nursing care insurance system, eligibility requirements will be added to part of the system as of August.
1.Approval system for the nursing care insurance coverage limit
Those who meet all of the following requirements will be subsidized for part of the cost for use of services.
※For those who have completed the renewal forms for this year, the results will be sent out on July 15.
2.System for the payment of high-cost nursing care service
If the personal costs for nursing care service have exceeded the set limit, the nursing care service amount that is above the limit will be provided. Those who are eligible will receive a notice in the mail.
※Even if an individual may be eligible for the limit of 44,000 yen, the limit may be reduced in some cases.
Points applicable to both 1. and 2.
Application: Please pick up an application from the Senior Citizen's Support Division (City Hall Annex, 2nd Floor). Complete the required parts of the form, and mail it to 〒277-8505, Kashiwa City Hall Senior Citizen's Support Division, or apply in person. ※As part of the approval system for the nursing care insurance coverage limit, it will be necessary to make a copy of your savings account bank book.
Applications will begin for Temporary Welfare Benefits

With the increase in the consumption tax rate, the Temporary Welfare Benefits have been established to ease the impact on people with low income. This year, part of the requirements for this benefit will be changed.
Applicability: As of the specified date (January 1, 2015), those who have a resident's card registered in the city, and those who were exempt from the 2015 fiscal year municipal tax (on a per capita basis). ※Not including the dependent family members of those who were required to pay tax, or those receiving public assistance.
Examples of those who are not eligible:
●The spouse or other dependent family members of people who are living in a different city, town or village for employment, and and are required to pay municipal taxes there (on a per capita basis).
●The dependent family members of people who are living at a different address, or living outside of Kashiwa City and are required to pay municipal tax in their city, town or village.
●Those who are deceased as of January 1, 2015 or later.
●Those who were born on or after January 2, 2015
Benefit details: 6000 yen for each eligible person ※Only one payment will be made after October.
Other: A reception desk for guidance regarding benefit applications will be set up in the lobby of the City Hall, Main Building. At the Reception Desk Service Division (Shonan Building, 1st floor), application submission only will be accepted. ※Applications will not be accepted at branch offices or Kinrin Centers.
Process from the application stage to payment of benefits
Be cautious of bank transfer fraud and scams to obtain personal information
If you receive a suspicious phone call or piece of mail that seems to be falsely representing government administration such as the city or the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, please contact the city or the police department (or the police advisory hotline: #9110).
