Introduction of the test version of the Mother and Child Health Handbook Electronic Service

Now accepting applications for the purchase of Kashiwa City Premium Gift Certificates

Applications are currently being accepted for the purchase of Premium Gift Certificates which can be used at restaurants and supermarkets, as well as participating establishments in the shops association. Don't miss this opportunity!
Eligibility: Those who are 15 years of age and older and currently living in Kashiwa City as of April 1, 2015.
Details: 1 set of tickets (worth 13,000 yen) will be sold for 10,000 yen. ※95,000 sets available for sale

Applications must be received by Sunday, May 31. ※One application per person, for up to two sets of gift certificates. If there are many applications, entries will be chosen by draw.

Parent Training in Kashiwa
Mothers and fathers who are feeling troubled about child-raising can learn how to behave towards children when they are griping, throwing temper tantrums or talking back.
Time: 8 classes will be held on Tuesdays (June 16, June 30, July 14, September 8, September 29, October 13, October 27, and November 10). All classes will run from from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
Place: Chuo Kominkan (Central Community Hall)
Eligibility: Parents or guardians with children between 4 and 8 years old, living in Kashiwa City. Applicants must be able to attend all sessions. About 6 participants.
Application: Please fill in the required information on the application form, and mail it to 〒277-8505, Kashiwa City Hall, Kodomo Fukushi Ka (Child Welfare Division), send it by fax to 7162-1077, or bring it in to the office directly. Shonan Community Hall Matsuri
Time and date: Sunday, May 24, and Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Eligibility: People who are currently living or working in Kashiwa City
Details: There will be art displays with drawings, paintings, photographs, short "tanka" poems, "ikebana" flower arrangements, and calligraphy art. There will also be wind-instrument and concert performances, karaoke, and original dance. Food stalls will also be set up.

1. Parent-child cooking class
▶10:00 am to 12:30 pm
Eligibility: Elementary school students and their parent or guardian, who live in Kashiwa City. 15 groups for a total of 30 participants.
Menu: We will be making handmade gyoza dumplings, Chinese-style soup, and anin-dofu almond jelly.
Cost: 300 yen per person ※If you cancel on the day of the event, you may be asked to pay for the cost of ingredients at a later date.
What to bring: Apron and kerchief
2. Parent-child computer class
▶1:30 pm to 4:00 pm
Eligibility: Elementary school students and their parent or guardian, who live in Kashiwa City. 10 groups for a total of 20 participants.
Events: Coloring, making greeting cards and an aquarium, and hands-on internet experience.
Items that apply to both events 1. and 2.

3. Children's hands-on experience class
▶1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Eligibility: Elementary school students; the first 15 children to arrive for each event may participate.
Cost: Events 1 to 6 will cost 300 yen, event 7 will cost 200 yen
Application: Please come directly to the event to register.
1: Fireflies and chopstick guns
We'll be making chopstick guns and fireflies with blinking electric bottoms.
2: Sweets decorated keyholders
We'll be making keyholders with flower and fruit "toppings".
3: Plastic mobile phone straps
We'll be making plastic mobile phone straps using an iron to heat them up, and adding colors and shapes.
We'll be making sailboats out of milk cartons.
5: Miracle ribbon
We'll be making toys from aluminium colored film, in fun shapes like gourds, etc.
We'll be making original drawstring-bag purses.
7: Felt keepsake boxes
We'll be making cake-shaped keepsake boxes out of felt.
