The Kashiwa City Premium Gift Certificate Program will begin

Kashiwa City will start applications for purchase of Premium Gift Certificates and the distribution of Child Raising Support Coupons that can be used at restaurants, supermarkets, and Shop Association locations. Don’t miss out on the chance to use these coupons and gift certificates!

1.Premium Gift Certificates
Eligibility: Those who are residents of Kashiwa City, and 15 years of age or older as of April 1st, 2015.
Details: One set (gift certificates with a value of 13,000 yen) will be sold for 10,000 yen. ※There will be 95,000 sets for sale.
Application: Please send a post card (with a reply card attached) to be received by Sunday, May 31st.
※ Up to 2 sets per person per application. If there are many entries, the applications will be chosen by draw. There will be a chance to win a variety of prizes.

2.Child Raising Support Tickets
Child Raising Support Tickets Coupons will be distributed to households raising children. These coupons can be exchanged at designated locations, so please be sure to use them.
Eligibility: Those who are residents of Kashiwa as of May 1st, 2015, and have children who are in Junior High School 3rd year or under.
Details: Coupons (2,000 yen worth of coupons per person) will be mailed to those who are eligible in the middle of June. Please exchange the coupons by Sunday, July 12th. ※A list of the locations where coupons can be exchanged will be included with the coupons when they are mailed.
≪Items which apply to both 1. and 2. ≫
Validity: Wednesday, July 1st to Thursday, December 31st. ※They will be invalid after this period.
Business owners in Kashiwa City... Would you like your shop to participate with Premium Gift Certificates and Child Raising Support Coupons?
For business owners who register, a "participating shop certificate" will be issued, and posters will be provided.
Eligibility: Those who are operating shops or businesses in Kashiwa City. ※Generally, the type of business does not matter. Large stores are also eligible.

Payment of car tax
Tax payment notices will be sent out by mail at the beginning of May. Please pay the tax as soon as possible at the nearest financial institution or convenience store.
Payment deadline: Monday, June 1st
Other: The tax can also be paid through the Internet using your credit card. For more information, please see the guidebook that is enclosed with your tax payment notice.

Eligibility: Foreign residents who live, work, or attend school in Kashiwa City
Details: You can study entry level and beginner Japanese that will help you deal with day-to-day situations smoothly.
Cost: Free ※You will be required to purchase a textbook.
Registration: Please call the Chuo Kominkan (Central Community Hall) to register.
Other: If you know anyone who is having trouble with day to day life because they cannot speak Japanese, please let them know about these classes.
Eligibility: Those who have completed Japanese instructor training. (A few people.)
Application: Please apply by phone with the Chuo Kominkan by Wednesday, May 20th.

Shimin Katsudo (Citizens' Activity) Festa 2015
Time: Sunday, May 10th, 10am to 5pm
Location: Around the Kashiwa Station East Exit double deck
Details: Theatrical performances, concerts, dance performances, booths to showcase the activities of Kashiwa citizens groups.
Other: If it rains, only the indoor events will be held.

A stamp rally will be held, and you can win fantastic prizes! The Kashiwani and Chiba-Kun mascots will be making an appearance somewhere at the event. See if you can find them!
Kashiwa Kosodate (Child-raising) Festa
Time: Sunday, May 17th, 11:00 am to 3:30 pm. ※May be cancelled in case of poor weather.
Location: Around the Kashiwa Station East Exit Howdy Mall
Details: Events held by kindergarten teachers (picture book exchange, crafts, games, food stands, etc.)

There will be lots of events such as a children's music stage, soap bubble show, and a sponge tennis match!
Kashiwa Music Sun 2015
Time: Sunday, May 17th, noon to 10:00 pm
Place: Around Kashiwa Station, at locations including the "Live House" 4 event areas.
Details: About 30 artist groups will be out in force, performing music along with the themes; "Listen to Good Music" and "Have a Good Time in the Town."
Cost: Advance tickets: 3,800 yen, tickets purchased on the day of the event: 4,300 yen. Available from Lawson Ticket.

The festival will be held in collaboration with the Kosodate Festa held on the same day, and there will also be music stages geared towards children. Families can have a great time together!
