Taking application for Kodomo-Room (after school day-care room) starting in April 2024

We have a facility of after-school day-care room (Kodomo-Room) for the child whose guardian cannot provide the care during the daytime due to the work shift etc. 　

 

Eligibility	Child of 1st to 6th grade in elementary school as of April 2024 ※Priority will be given to the child of 1st to 3rd grade in elementary school and any child who requires support particularly.
Period	From 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025
Schedule	▶Monday to Friday, 1:30pm to 7:00pm ※During long seasonal holidays, it opens from 8:00am  ▶Saturday, 8:00am to 6:30pm   ▶Shortened school days, after school to 7:00pm ※During long seasonal holidays, early morning day-care, 7:00am to 8:00am, is available for those who applied. (100 yen per person per use) It is not open on Sundays, national holidays, and year end & new year period (29th December to 3rd January next year).
Fee (Monthly)	10,000 yen. ※15,000yen for August. Fee reduction system is available.

Apply by Post! Taking application for authorized nursing schools and day-care centers starting in April 2024

There are 22 public and 87 private authorized nursery schools in Kashiwa city. Two authorized nursery schools, 2 authorized day-care centers and one small-scale authorized day-care are planned to be added to the list.

 

If you intend to apply authorized day-care center (kodomo-en), please make sure to have the briefing on the policies and regulations from each facility prior to proceeding the application procedure. Each facility accepts the request of the visiting the facility. Please make the best use of the opportunity. 　

■Application and procedure

Required conditions for the needs of day-care	To be entitled to enroll the child to authorized day-care center or nursing school, guardian must be certified for group 2 or 3 of Education and Day-care Entitlement (to prove the need for day-care service), and guardian must satisfy any of the following conditions. ▶working ▶before and after the childbirth (last day of the month in which 8th week after child-birth finishes.) ▶experiencing disease or having disability ▶nursing any family member with mental or physical disability or elderly member living together for full-time. ※Document to show the reason of requiring the day-care such as certificate of employment has to be issued after 1st July 2023 to be effective.
Ages for each class	Full year as of 1st April 2024. Even after the birthday, the child stays in the same class during the fiscal year. ※Some facilities have limitation on the eligible age (age in month) to be accepted.

Application procedure	By 15th December (Friday), application must be sent by post to the following address. (Postmark valid on the same day) 277-8505 Kashiwa-shiyakusho, Hoiku-Unei-ka (Nursery School Administration Division, Kashiwa City Hall) ※In case of your first preference is authorized Kodomo-en (day-care center), please bring the application to your choice of authorized Kodomo-en (day-care center) directly.
Announcement date of assessment result	5th February (Monday) 2024 (plan)
Others	▶Acceptance is not determined on “first come, first served” basis. Degree of necessity for the nursery school is converted into the point system from the viewpoint of child welfare and assessed in accordance with the points.   ▶For authorized Kodomo-en (day-care center), higher priority is given to who chooses Authorized Kodomo-en (day-care center) as the first choice. ▶If you have any concerns on the development or sickness of your child, please arrange the consultation at the Nursery School Sdministration Sivision with the application form and Mother and Child Health Handbook during the application period. (Booking required. Please call by 8th December (Friday).)

Starting to accept application for support payment for preparation for starting the first grade at elementary school

We offer financial support as the practice of School Entrance Financial Assistance System to cover some part of the expenses for preparation for school life to guardian of to-be 1^st grader at elementary school in next April living in Kashiwa city with financial issues.

Please send an application form available at Schools and Education Division (2^nd floor, Shonan Branch Office) and every municipal and elementary school with required document by post (must arrive by the closing date) by 1st March (Friday) to address below.

Others

Those who apply by 31^st January 2024 will receive the payment in the late February after the assessment on the income statement.

For low income household, subsidy to support the first check-up for pregnant woman

From 1^st November (Wednesday), subsidy payment for the first check-up to support the pregnant lady with low income will start to reduce the financial burden to carry out the safe and sound pregnancy.

Eligibility

Pregnant woman in the Tax-exempted household or the household receiving the public financial assistance.

1^st April 2023 and afterwards.

First examination to determine the pregnancy.

Changes in garbage disposal procedures

There are some changes in garbage disposal procedures, such as garbage bags, home medical equipment disposal, and general garbage disposal procedure.

Changes of “colours of garbage bag” and “names of garbage classification” from 1^st April 2024 in Shonan area

“Colours of Garbage bag” and “names of garbage classification” in Shoan area are changing to the same as the ones in Kashiwa area from 1^st April 2024. You can use the current garbage bags for another year. You can find further details in February issue of Kashiwa community paper next year.

 

 

Home Medical Equipment can be disposed at the general disposal collection point.

Some home medical equipment such as syringes without needles, and tubes etc., which used to be returned to the medical institutes or pharmacies can be disposed at the general disposal collection point.

What can be disposed at the general garbage collection point

As combustible garbage

● Syringes without needles, tubes and etc.

● Plastic bags etc.

Caution!  

● No matter what the material and with or without plastic mark, dispose as the combustible garbage.

● Empty the content and use double layered garbage bags

As non-combustible garbage

● Bottles used for medicine and etc.

● Empty the content and use translucent garbage bag.

● Broken bottles after-use have to be returned to the medical institutes or pharmacies.

To reduce the mental stress from the changes in appearance such as loss of hair and excision of the breast due to cancer treatment, the support on the expense for medical correction device (hair wig, chest correction device, and epithesis) is offered to who needs the medical correction devices.

Eligibility

Anybody with registered address in Kashiwa city who is undergoing the cancer treatment or had undergone the treatment and needs the medical correction device.
